*THEME: DON'T FORGET HE IS ALWAYS NEAR.*
_"Then Jesus saith unto them, Children, have ye any meat? They answered him, No. john 21: 5._
You've probably heard the story in John 21: 1 - 14 before. The disciples have been fishing all night, Jesus calls from the shore and tells them to cast their nets on the others side of the boat. They do it. They end up with a huge haul. So will we end up with a massive net of good things if we also follow Jesus Yes. We end up learning to listen for Jesus voice and follow his instructions, even when we think we know better.
Peter was quit good in the fishing business. He knew that fish feed at night. So it made sense to go fishing at that time. When Jesus arrives it's daylight surely that's the time to give up. But when He calls out to them, they do exactly what He tells them. And by the time Peter hears It is the Lord (v. 7), it's already quite obvious thanks to the amazing miracle He's just done.
Jesus is part of our every day, but sometimes we can put so much trust in other stuff and completely miss that. Then when things go wrong, we think we've tried everything, and that nothing can fix a situation forgetting that Jesus is standing over there in the corner waving hello, I've been here the whole time. Let's try to listen out for Jesus on the shore, giving simple instructions. Then, let's dare to try and follow them.
